It's been a very long time since I sat down and played with my graphics program, but decided today might be a good time to practice again as it's dreary outside and raining. Using a tutorial called "Pastel Frame", I did my own version.
A few nights ago I had a dream. I was in a horse stall with an elephant who was hugging me with his trunk. Also in the stall with me was my horse Copper, who went over to Rainbow Bridge in June 2013. Copper was all tacked up and ready to go for a ride. I'm not sure why an elephant was in my dream, but they say elephants never forget, and I don't. I loved Copper, and I still do. I miss him all the time, so Copper, this post is for you. I'll never forget.... Went to see a movie last night "August Osage County". Julia Roberts did an outstanding performance, as did Meryl Streep. Actually all the actors did a great performance in portraying this amazingly disfunctional family. Meanwhile at home it's too cold to ride (-31 degrees celcius) when I got up this morning, so I'm seriously considering hibernation :)I'm fed up with winter and it's only just begun. Here we are the beginning of January and already in December deep freezes, snow and winds destroyed my mood. This morning, I wiped out on the ice. Not the way I want to start my day, especially not having had my first cup of coffee yet! I swear, bears have the right idea!
Just started this a few days ago. It's been a very long time since I painted with acrylics. It's like learning the medium all over again. It has a home if the lady likes it, but first I have to finish it. May take awhile. Meanwhile the temperature outside has dropped to -27oC. Not fit for man nor beast. Okay starting off a new year at -24oC. Too cold to do much but I did manage to get to the barn and brush Tonga. Today on the news I read about a recent fire in a dog kennel near by . All 18 dogs being boarded died. My heart broke reading that, not only because of the poor dogs who lost their lives, but to the families who lost their beloved pets. I can only imagine how it would feel.
So last night was brutal at minus 23 celius, and today at minus 18...I have to ask myself now and again why I'm not living on some tropical island somewhere instead of freezing my buns off here! On my way home today I actually saw people strolling along as if it was warm outside...nuts!
